Several days ago, Trent (Robert Culp) awoke with no memory of his past. Since then, sinister men have pursued him constantly. He manages to stay one step ahead of them by following the advice of his hand. Made of glass and apparently capable of speech, Trent's hand can answer many of his questions. But it cannot tell him who he is or why his enemies seek him until he finds all of its fingers. The only trouble is that they're in the hands of his enemies. With Arlene Martel, Abraham Sofaer
I colorized this using AI software that doesn't always
get the colors right, but I think it looks fairly natural. Hopefully a
more professional job will be done someday.

Happy Days, long gone
I have to say your colouring job is really good. It was always my favourite episode of The Outer Limits and it evokes for me a time all my family were still here. Staying up until midnight circa 1979ish then being terrified to go to bed!
I will be checking out your others, vintage tv is a lifeline to me. Thanks for posting!

Disappointing episode
I was entranced by the notion of a robot defending earth, but seeing his human companion abandon him was infuriating-a first class example of chauvinism by the writers...

There is not second part
Unlike The Twilight Zone, many episodes of the Outer Limits had a complete conclusion. Several, however, particularly in the second season, did not end with a total wrap-up.
At the end of Demon, the Kyben have been killed and the time mirror is destroyed. Trent learns that he holds humanity literally in the palm of his hand and he must guard them for the next 1,200 years. He must, in effect, return to the future the long way around. That is his epic journey. Consuelo cannot handle the fact that Trent is not a man but a machine. It is not within her realm of understanding and so she leaves him alone.
Harlan Elison was to have written a continuation of this story as an episode of Babylon 5 in the 1990s also staring Robert Clup, but that never materialized.

length without commercials
Back then, an hour of broadcast TV in the U.S. was typically 51+ minutes, Nowadays it is typically 43 minutes.

2nd episode
It originally aired on October 17, 1964, and was the fifth episode of the second season. I watched the beginning and the end of this video online and it starts with him having 2 digits on his "glass hand" and jumping to the end he has all 5 digits and learns of his mission, then girl takes off leaving him to his wandering. the Video runs for 51min+ so, it must be the 2 episodes joined in some manner & there are no commercials in it.
I really don't remember how much time they took up back in 1964 but now it's damn close to half of a 1 hr show.
